From here you can take a cruise or hire a houseboat - paddle steamers and riverboats still pull into its historic wharf.

Bask on the sunny shores of Lake Mulwala. Corowa, also has a colourful history associated with its role as a river port and the centre of agriculture in the region. Albury-Wodonga, roughly half way between Sydney and Melbourne, is a great base from which to explore the whole region. The alps, goldfields, heritage towns, river valley and wineries are all within easy reach.

Enjoy live music at a café, a pub or concert venue, or discover local culture and history through the many galleries and museums of the region. Located in the fertile Murray Valley, Albury Wodonga is the hub of one of the richest and most diverse areas of primary production in Australia. Foods are varied, unique and abundant.

Corowa

On the Murray River at the border between New South Wales and Victoria, the town of Corowa boasts a history rich of everything from golf mining and winemaking to timber milling. These days, many of these pursuits are still important in this prosperous district, along with the cultivation of wool, cereals and stock.

Corowa's fasinating history includes being called "the birthplace of federation" as it was here at the local Courthouse that the 1893 Federation Conference took place and the decision was made to draw up a constitution for the new nation.
